The latest count at the Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove is 19,000. This count is already greater than the top count of 17,000 for the 2009 season. This count bodes well for our Monarch season. In years past the largest count number is posted in late December or early January. There is plenty of time for more Monarchs to show up and be counted.
